Hello all,
It’s been some time, sorry for the delay. Obviously there have been some changes in the leadership structure of the zone. The “shadow council” era is over, although I still am not sure it ever began. A story or argument for another time, I suppose.
What you have likely seen or were apart of was the community vote on the restructure of the zone. This placed a new Hockey Zone Board of Directors in service who make decisions on league formats, discord moderation, use of extra finances above our regular costs (if any — there are not), and hiring of LC’s.
This structure was outlined in my very simple organizational chart, but it would be basically summed up as:
- Whitmer – Oversees BOD for replacement or removal if there are significant issues with a member, also oversees zone development team independent of the BOD (this means sysops, coders, server managers). This team does also manage an independent discord for code discussion and ease of access (plus a member has no interest in our current discord)
- BOD – League and Discord decisions (these are the two most common issues for us)
- Discord Rules
- Discord Moderators
- LC’s
- League Refs / Head Ref
- League Refs / Head Ref
- Discord Rules
I want to thank the community for their successful votes to pass this new structure. As of this weekend, the zone and discord have been updated to reflect that. A vote is even underway over the moderation style of the discord! (see #bod-general-discussion)
As an update to current roles in the interest of maintaining transparency:
- Owner / Dev Team Management – Whitmer
- Sysop Team
- Dege (module coding updates)
- Fur (bot coding updates)
- Goldeye (server maintenance and code review)
- Incomplete (server maintenance and administration)
- Website Team
- Stryke
- Janus
- Sysop Team
- HZ Board Of Directors (Bogey, Jack, Singer, Verez, Zayb)
- Discord Mods
- TBD
- League Coordinators
- RSHL – Gato
- Beer League – Alastria (until the end of this season)
- RSFL – Puker (if RSFL returns)
- Head Ref – TBD
- Referees
- Discord Mods
Once again, thank you to the community for passing this update. I think it will spread the volunteer hours out while still maintaining continuity. It’s time to move forward and play some Hockey Zone.
Thanks,
Steve
